ABSTRACT

Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) is a disease characterized by acute non-follicular sterile pustules on erythematous ground, which is usually triggered by drug use. In general, related to drugs such as beta-lactams, macrolides and calcium channel blockers. Most patients show spontaneous remission. Hydroxychloroquine is a very rare drug that causes AGEP and it is used in some dermatological and rheumatic diseases due to its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. Our 53-year-old female patient developed AGEP after hydroxychloroquine used for the treatment of rheumatoidarthritis. The patient had resistance to steroid treatment and her complaints have been increased. The patient was treated with cyclosporine and his complaints were completely relieved.
