ABSTRACT
Telangiectasia macularis eruptiva perstans is a rare form of cutaneous mastocytosis mainly affecting adults and sometimes children. The clinical presentation is characterized by coalescing multiple, telangiectatic hyperpigmented macules on an erythematous base with the trunk most commonly affected. Systemic involvement may be seen.
In this article, we present the case of a 16-year-old male patient diagnosed as telangiectasia macularis eruptiva perstans clinically and histopathologically. Since he was three years old there were multiple coalescing widespread red-brown hyperpigmented macules 0.5-1 cm in diameter on trunk and extremities with his face, palms, sole and scalp being spared. Because of its rarity, onset of symptom in childhood and extensive cutaneous involvement we report this case.
