ABSTRACT

Primary cutaneous B cell lymphomas are a subtype of malignant lymphomas which primarily involve the skin without any signs of systemic involvement. Pathogenesis is not clear but chronic antigenic stimulation, genetic translocations, infections such as Epstein- Barr Virus (EBV) or Borrelia and drugs such as methotrexate which may stimulate immun dysregulation are suspected as etiologic factors. Histopathologic, immunophenotypic and/or cytogenetic investigations are usually required for an accurate diagnosis. Choice of treatment measures depends on the site of involvement, number of the lesions, and age or general health condition of the patient. Radiotherapy, surgical excision or mono-/ multi agent chemotherapy are the most preferable methods.
