ABSTRACT
Fixed drug eruption (FDE) is a cutaneous reaction as skin or mucous membrane lesions that occur at the same site due to various drugs. Though various drugs have been implicated in pathogenesis, FDE is more commonly caused by sulfonamides, barbiturates and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Clarithromycin is one of the macrolide antibiotics that commonly used for cutaneous and respiratory system infections. In clinical trials, adverse drug reactions of clarithromycin are usually mild and transient. Here we present a case of bullous FDE as oral mucosa erosions and bullous lesions on the trunk due to clarithromycin.
