ABSTRACT

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is often a chronic relapsing skin disease in early childhood. AD is a disease often with associated xerosis, sensitivity to allergens and skin barrier a defective. Patients are susceptible to developing asthma, allergic rhinitis and IgEmediated systemic symptoms. The diagnosis of the disease there are no specific feature and laboratory test. The diagnosis of AD is made based on clinical findings, described by Hanifin and Rajka. An effective treatment for AD, must be to prevent episodes of acute developing. In chronic phase must be to ensure proper skin care and to reduce the number of attacks. Treatment of AD includes preventive treatment, local treatment, phototherapy treatment, systemic treatment and other treatments. This of the text includes review in the therapy modalities and medications the treatment of AD.
